A pneumatic fender gives enormous advantages in case of tides variations, inclined berthings and when a soft reaction force is required for particular hulls such as cruise vessels or navy ships. Furthermore performance remains the same after years due to compressive elasticity of the air that is not compromised by fatigue like a solid fender.

A common equipped pneumatic fenders will probably not survive at those rough conditions, particular attention has to be used for this applications on chain and tire net and riggings, as well as on mooring systems. Pedrotec can equip a pneumatic fender body in order to survive in open sea and can assist in designing the best mooring system. Mooring system and pneumatic fenders have to be considered as an unique system that should not be designed separately.

"Twister" towing ring
Offshore fenders are permanently subject to continuous stress and rotations. These rotations end in an unavoidable twisting of the mooring rope(s). as a textile rope does not have enough torque to turn a common used swivel the ropes will self destroy quickly. The Twister has a rotative part linked to the fender and a fixed part with an eccentric stabilizer plate on rope side. This will keep the ropes in the same position no matter if the fender rotates.
RMU (Remote Monitoring Units)
The Remote monitoring unit for pneumatic fenders is a Pedrotec production and is unique in the world. It’s a GPS unit with a built in pressure sensor and is installed inside the fender. You can get then position and pressure of the fender wherever you are just with an internet connection, you can daily check pressure conditions of your fender offshore and immediatly find it if lost.

Foam filled fenders

Higher energy absorption at same reaction force of pneumatic fenders.

These fenders are very appreciated by the cruise industry as they can be of any colour and do not mark the hull during berthing operation.

Typically used without chain and tires protection.


Cylindrical rubber fenders

This fender has been used for years and still in use for its easy installation and maintenance, usually installed with a steel pipe running inside the fender and 2 or 4 chains.

Suitable for cargo, workboats and heavy hulls ships, not recommended for ro-ro and pax vessels.

Cone and Cell fenders

Suitable for large ships.

Front panel with UHMW-PE reduces friction between the ship and the steel front panel reducing shear force and increasing fender life.

In the Supercone version performance is almost unchanged with an angular berthing below 10°.

Rollers Fenders

Roller Rubber Fender absorbs the impact energy of boat trough rolling and deflection.

Roller fender usually is used in shipyard, water lock, all kinds of limited canal and corner of dock, etc.

Low rolling resistance.

Can be used singly or in stacks.


TUG Fenders

Tug Rubber Fenders are used on the bow and stern of tug for pushing.

TALENT Tug Rubber Fender uses once completely vulcanization technology to keep good perfor mance and long working life.


D Type Fenders

D Fender can be supplied in long lengths with angle cut at the ends, with drilled holes as required for each application. Simple installation method.

Applicable for small quays, fishing boats, tugs, barges and pontoons.
